Starlink Transforms Off-Grid Camping on England’s Jurassic Coast
Dorset, UK — Camping just got a high-tech upgrade! During a recent trip to a remote woodland campsite on England's stunning Jurassic Coast, a connectivity challenge turned into a triumph with the help of Starlink.
With no 4G/5G signal, patchy TV reception, and zero Wi-Fi, staying connected seemed impossible.
And honestly 7 days without connection when you are running three online businesses is no joke.
We took a little adventure into Curry’s Dorset to pick up Starlink, and let me tell you, it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing at first. The staff had no idea what I was talking about, but hey, no big deal—we improvised! I hopped onto their WiFi, ordered Starlink online for store collection, and within an hour, voilà, it was ready to go.
The real fun began when we raced back to our caravan pitch, excited to see if it was as easy as they say.
Spoiler alert: it totally was. Getting online was a breeze, and just like that, we were connected.
The Kit
We went with the Starlink Standard kit (latest generation!) and paired it with a mobile business plan. Honestly, it couldn’t have been easier—we were up and running in no time.
The kit comes with a separate router and a 25-meter cable, which worked perfectly for us. We popped the satellite dish on top of our car and ran the cable to the router in our caravan. Simple, right?
Before we knew it, we had seamless internet access—right in the middle of nature. It felt like the best of both worlds: adventure and connection.
